It’s that time of the year again when everyone gets a little bit more busy and crazy. The holidays are stalking us and it seems that we barely have time to do anything anymore. With parties and preparations, friends, family and whatnot... It’s insane but we have to endure it (well, at least some parts lol) and be happy too ;). And before all my time goes up the window I decided to stop by here and wish everyone a merry holiday!!! I want to thank you all for making me happy through my trials and tribulations, thank you for friending me and of course for keeping me company, even if you don’t know you do :).
That’s why I’m giving all of you early christmas gifts, or at the very least the first of others (that depending if I can weasel more time to post on this journal).

Today I’m sharing my most accomplished textures so far. Well maybe I’m over-doing it but I really like this pack. I had a lot of fun doing these ones. I love the colors and I hope you do too. The first set contains three large textures in pastel colors, 800x600px each. It’s like walking in a soft green dream. They have a lot of layers and a paper feel to them. Very pleasing to the eyes.
The second set contains ten icon sized textures that were cut from the large three and fiddle with. I wanted to make some notebook related icon sized textures, with depth and borders. I really like the end result.

Believe it or not this Journal is slowly but surely getting a little more crowded. And I say that in the nicest way possible. I’m glad people like my resources and I’m eternally grateful for each and every one of you. I hope I can keep up the good work and continue to improve and offer better and more content. I’m sorry for not updating more often but as you all know life gets in the way though I love it. So without further ado's… thank you!

And to celebrate this joyous occasion I’m offering some exclusive textures for you to download. It’s my humble gift for all of you, friends ;). I’ll be opening download for all in a week. Random Headers

Hello everyone! I'm here to tell you that life it's getting more dificult as the year ends. I don't know what I did to the gods but enough is enough, right? Anyway I don't want to start moaning so let's concentrate on the good things, shall we?
I decided it was time to post what I promised a few months ago and that's the HEADERS I had made for this journal that I used, and continue to use now, for you to take and enjoy (that's always if you follow my simple requests that you can find in the terms of use). There were only two that I hadn't shared before but because that was really all I added one more, just out of the oven. I hope you like them enough because if you do I'll be sure to make more, well if the muse comes back to me ;).
But that's not all... I'm also posting something extra: textures! Because I know that's what you are really here for ;)...
The texture set I’m sharing today is once again a little grunge, that’s what I do best maybe and it contains only one splashed large texture, 1024x768px. It’s was made before the computer crash and salvaged. I know it’s not much but it’s something to tide you over until I can post more resources ;).

Blue Skies

I don't know how long it will take me to get everything back to normal but here I am again. I'm still getting used to the new layout in my computer and to the new Photoshop program, though it's not that different from the other version it seems that we are indeed creatures of habit...
Anyway you just want to know how I'm doing in the creative sense and I have to inform you all that I'm lacking inspiration. My muse just went awol and I don't know how long it's going to take to find it once again. Though you shouldn't be worried just yet because I do have some things to share for now... when I'm all out then well who knows what will happen ;).
So without further ramblings here's what I have for you today: two new large texture sets.
The first set contains two boxy blue textures, each 750x600px. Believe it or not these were made with just one part of stock picture that was twisted and blended beyond recognition. I really love this set and I hope you do too.
The second set is quite different made up from scratch and with a few written things added for effect. It contains two torn up textures, each 1024x768px. They are not my best but I was looking for a different result. I keep trying to make things interesting.

Taking a Deep Breath...

Hello everyone! Once again I'm late but this time is for a very bad reason. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive and the only reason for my absence is because my computer crashed over a month ago. It wasn't funny at all. My cpu just barely survived and because of this event I lost a lot of things, information, programs and whatnot.
I just got the computer back five days ago and I had to install everything again. It's still a work in progress. Anyway as you may realize it's slowly coming back to life. I just wanted to tell you guys so you can be patient and wait. I lost most of the resources I had, not the ones I had saved (thank god I had some backup) though I still have some work ahead of me. I had to track down some plugins I had installed in my other Photoshop as well as the patterns and brushes, well you get the picture.
I have hope that eventually everything will be as good as it can get. I'll be sure to be back soon with some resources to share, I do have some stashed in cds that I'll bring over here. I'm just getting used to the new Photoshop.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me, I need all the luck and help I can get. So just be in the look out for some updates soon.

Because It's Time!

Yes, you are not seeing things; I could finally make the time to post something in the journal. I've been having a lot of problems and I'm still with a lot on my plate but I wanted to give you guys something to tide you over until I can come back again. I don't know when that's going to be possible though I hope you'll have patience with me.
I have a bit of everything this time to post and share with you. First a few stock icons that I made some time ago with a bunch of new ones, 15 to be exact. I also have a new header for all of you, also made with stock pictures. I thought it was about time that I did one without people in it ;). And last but certainly not least a large texture set. It contains three 800x600px textures that originated from one background picture and a few brushes, apart from a whole lot of tweaking and messing around. I really like the end result and I hope you find them interesting.

It's That Time...?

As you may have noticed, it's time to change the layout yet again. I was procrastinating but I just had to do it. This time I'm using the CSS code of the wonderful kuribati, though I changed it quite a bit to fit my personal needs. I modified a few things and added as you can tell a new header. It was one that had been lying around my computer that was designed for another purpose. I just opened my Photoshop and changed the colors and added a few things, anyway this is the end result. I'll be posting it soon (with a few others) for you to download. You can find all the credits for the header and layout in my credits post and also in the sidebar. (For the curious ones.)
I didn't forget about you guys, I just have been busy. I know it's been less than ideal the long period of time without news. I've just been having trouble with inspiration and time. I have a few things to share but they still need work. I promise a new update with resources soon for all the faithful watchers.
I also want to thank everyone for the kind words and replies. Also for all the people friending this journal, it's amazing. It's really heart warming and it helps a lot when I'm in the dark. It makes it easier to make the time to work on this journal. Thank you!.

Look Outside the Box

It seems that time got away from me again, but this time I have a few good explanations though it doesn't excuse the lack of updates to this journal. I got sidetracked and all my free time was spent reading four books that completely captured my attention. I couldn't stop reading until I was finished and then life has it's own distractions so all in all my time evaporated.
Anyway, that's not here or there. I know you want to get down to business ;) so that's exactly what I'm going to do. I have to confess that I'm using all my reserves and I'm posting the last of them. But for now we're good to go.
Today I'm posting two new sets of textures, I made them from scratch and added some scans and stocks to liven them up. I think they are my favorites yet. I had a lot of fun making them and I hope it shows in the end result. So check them out!

The first set contains 25 icon sized textures made with an original large texture with added scans and stock pictures. I played a lot with different layers for the end result. The second set contains 17 icon sized textures and is quite different than the other. I started at the same place with another large texture and ended up in a completely different direction. I hope you find them useful.

And to add a little something extra to this post I'm sharing three new headers that I made these last few weeks. The first one I made to experiment with some of my own textures and I kind of like the result, a simple blending art. The last two come from the same fanart and I used a lot of brushes and textures with different angles and cuts. Hope you like them, let me know what you think and if you want more so I can get cracking.

In Black & White

Well, you should be proud of me because it's not even that long since I posted something and here I am again. Though I'm not feeling all that well, I decided to come by and share something with all of you. Not my usual type of resources, but I hope you find them useful. It's definitely different from what I'm used to make.
Because once upon a time I promised more black & white textures, and people seem to enjoy them I'm posting two very different large textures sets that I made.
The first set contains two flowery textures, each 800x600px. These were thought up as a type of grungy wallpaper using some kind of flowery patterns. One in black and one in white, the contrast was the idea behind them.
The second set is more boring in nature but useful nonetheless. It contains two blotched textures, each 800x600px also. These ones were made from scratch with a lot of brushes and a few grungy looking scans. They are pretty non descriptive though that's the idea.
Anyway I really hope you like the new additions, and don't forget to come back for more resources if you like what you see.

Broken in Two

I tried not to let too much time pass between updates this time. Hope this is soon enough ;). Because I'm not in a chatty mood today, let's just get to the reason I'm here. Today I'm sharing with you two textures sets that I made.
The first set is one I promised to do a long time ago, because people liked the blue set so much. It contains five large textures, each 800x600px. They were made using a few pictures and a lot of brushes and layers. They kind of remind me of the ocean, hence the name. I'm kind of fond of this one so I hope you like it.
The second set is like an added bonus, just because I had it lying around and thought someone might find it useful. It contains four medium size textures, each 750x500px. These ones were made from scratch with a lot of brushes and that's why they are pretty grungy looking.
Just a little warning, the .zip files are a little heavy, but you shouldn't have problems with them. And now to the teaser...

Imagine the Possibilities

This time I'm not going to write down an excuse. Time just run out from me and my ability to concentrate on this journal just went out the window. I'm sorry for the long delay, sometimes I just drop out without good reason.
But don't worry I still have the decency to come back bearing gifts. But first things first, I changed the layout once again as you may already noticed. This time I'm using one from Minty Peach with a header (made by me) of Joshua Jackson from the TV Show "Fringe". Just thought I could make the wait a little easier by having a visual aid. If anyone by any chance wants the header, just let me know and I'll share it.
Now to the part you are all waiting for, THE GIFTS I was talking about... Today I'm sharing with you two icon sized sets of textures and some really awesome (well, maybe that's an exaggeration) batch of icons. Everything is under the cut like always but because I'm nice you can have a little preview ;).

The first set contains 12 icon sized textures made with some scans of papers and letters. I played a lot with brushes so they are grungy. The range of color is pretty small, oranges with browns and yellows. The second set contains 26 icon sized textures and is a bit wilder in its conception. It's also grungy but with splashes of really strong colors. It's all over the place, so you should have a lot of fun with it.

Also, because I got suddenly generous (kidding) I decided to post a batch of icons I had lying around, 28 to be exact. Because I'm posting everything I have, there's not a precise correlation between them, though they are all from stock pictures. The first sixteen go hand in hand with two headers I made and shared some time ago, here's the link if you are curious. The others I made at different opportunities so they may vary. Hope you like them!

Looking for Salvation

I told you people that I would post some resources soon and I didn't disappoint. Just a day later and I bring you all some great resources, well if I do say so myself. I was looking at my most downloaded ones, to know what people like from me and decided to share something similar. To put an end to the hiatus I bring you all two new resources that I think you may like: one brush set and one texture set.
Anyway remember that all the brushes and textures are made with Photoshop 7 so you should be able to use them with that program and above as well as with other ones you may have. (The brushes have an image pack included so you can adapt them for any other program you may use.)
The texture set contains six medium size textures, each 700x500px. They are cheery and playful because they have the colors of the rainbow but in a light pastel. They were made with some scans and stock pictures with a lot of Photoshop editing from yours truly.
Also this time I'm sharing some grunge brushes, they are pretty large and have a good variety. You should be able to use them for many things but are especially good for backgrounds and masking. The set contains 10 large brushes.
Both .zip files are heavy so be patient please, I can't do anything about that. Just remember that if you have any problems with the links I provide to download you can let me know and we'll find a solution.
And please remember to comment if you take, I really love to know what you think about them, and what I should do more of ;).

- Description

End of Hiatus

Though I didn't specifically say it, and even if it wasn't that long (and maybe you didn't even notice but…) the end of the hiatus is here. I was out of town for three weeks, and before that well… you know how it goes at the end of December. It’s all a little crazy with the festivities and everything. I really didn’t have time to dedicate to Extravagant Obsession and before you know it a month passes by. But fear not! I have a lot of resources to post and share with you. That’s really great news for you guys, though I didn’t have time, I do have a batch of resources lying in my computer waiting to see the light of day. It really pays off when you plan for the future ;). I was a making machine for some time and I wasn’t able to post as fast as I was making, so now I have a small reserve for times like these.
Just give me a few days to organize everything and I’ll be back with a lot of goodies for you. So don’t forget to check back often.

Through the Fog of the Past

Just like I promised in my last post I'm sharing with you guys a few goodies. First and foremost I want to apologize for the ads that mess up the layout but it's a necessary evil, I really use all the perks of the plus account. I'll try to solve it soon.
Secondly I would like to thank all the people that comment and reply to this journal, it really warms my heart and keeps me motivated to update every chance I get. I hope I can keep making things that you find interesting and different, so you can count on this place for quality resources. Anyway before I get sappier let's go to what I'm sure you are waiting for... the goodies ;).
Though this is the first of what I presumed to be a short amount of sets, I hope you still find it interesting and useful. I'm posting for you to download some Photoshop 7 Patterns that I made for my personal purposes, but figured maybe you'll find them cute. This set contains 27 miscellaneous patterns, there's not much coherence in the set except for a few colored stripes. Remember that you should know how to use patterns in Photoshop 7 before downloading, but if you don’t there’re a lot of tutorials out there to learn how. It’s not complicated. And just a little warning: I’m not providing image packs with the set, only the .pat file. If you want them to use in a different program, just let me know and I’ll try to make one for download.

And because I’m feeling really generous, well that and I already said I would, I’m posting four new headers for you to enjoy. It's A Brand New World

Though it may appear to be a different journal, it's not. It's still Extravagant Obsession I just changed the layout because I was getting bored. This time I decided to borrow one from Milou Veronica. She posted a few really good flexible squares layouts that I had to try myself. I edited the original css to make it my own, and I also added a header because that's what I love to do. This new header will be available for download in a few days just as long as you follow the terms of use.
Well I hope you like it, I'm still changing a few things around to make it look great. I just hope you don't mind so much the ads, they are kind of a pain right now. I'll try to work around that. Anyway, I'll be posting some new resources in the next few days so be on the look out.

Daydreaming in the Summer Days

Though this month I started a little slow in the sharing, I'm slowly trying to compensate you guys with a few goodies. I had a rough time with life and didn't have a lot of time but that's the good thing of having some resources already made waiting in the wings... I have a lot more resources to share with you and today I'm uploading two sets of icon sized textures. So far these two batches are in my favorite list. I used them a lot already. They are completely different from the others. I hope you like them.
The first batch contains 34 icon sized textures. They have a variety of colors, raging from orange and green to purple. They are great to use as backgrounds or otherwise. The second set contains 22 icon sized textures and works really well with all kinds of pictures. They are pretty soft, to create a more relaxed look.
Well, that's all for now but I'll be back with more resources soon, and I'll be sure to add some new icons as well as headers (if you are interested, that is?!).

Black and White Brush

Because it's been so long since I posted anything here, I thought why not go all out? Well, it's not quite like that but almost lol... Today I'm sharing with you guys one brush file and one texture set. Both very useful, if I do say so myself, but I'm sure you'll like them... hopefully. Anyway remember that all the brushes and textures are made with Photoshop 7 so you should be able to use them with that program and above.
This time the brushes are for all your icon needs, it contains 14 icon brushes with a variety of different uses.
The texture set contains two large black and white textures, each 800x600px. I think both resources are will satisfy different needs, so let's see what you think.

- Description
Brush Set 04: Icons01. Contains 14 Brushes. This is the first set of icon brushes that I made. It has a bunch of borders and some texture like brushes to use when making icons, you'll also find a few newspaper like brushes to liven up your icons. I use it quite a lot in my own icons. Light My Fire

It seems all I'm able to do these days are textures, though I have the faintiest idea that maybe you don't mind the fact so much. I open Photoshop and that's all I'm capable of doing. What I have this time is one set that contains four medium textures and one large. The sizes varying from 600x450 to 800x600 respectively.
This time I used some fiery colorful smoke stock photos as the base for them and added a few little touches (might as well say a lot of touches) with all the tools provided in Photoshop. I think they have quite a personality. Hope you like them.

Twice the Love, Twice the Joy

It seems I can't help but keep you all happy because once again I'm bringing you some goodies. This time I'm uploading two sets of icon sized textures. They were all made with some of the large texures that I posted before with a few new twists and tricks.
The first batch contains 33 icon sized textures. They are a little bit different than the previous batch but they can be used in a decorative way as background. The second set contains 21 icon sized textures and works really well with stock pictures as well as in the way of background. Anyway I hope you can find them useful, I know I did (you can find examples of how I used them in the last two batchs of icons I posted: HERE and HERE).

Because I Love Cuteness

I have been meaning to do a post with graphics for some time now but I was excited with all the texture making and well... I couldn’t help myself with the uploading of all of them (though I still have a lot more textures to share and I’ll get to it in the next few updates) so this post got relegated a few times.
Anyway that’s that and now I come bearing 26 new icons for your enjoyment. Because who doesn’t love kittens, I’m posting a whole batch of cute little icons with lots of tenderness to share. And I also added a few stock icons (should let you all know that this is my first official batch) made with some beautiful landscaping pictures. I hope you like them. Candy Shop: All You Can Find

Apparently I wasn't kidding, right? Because I once again come with a bunch of textures for your enjoyment. It seems that's all I'm able to do these days but I bet you are not complaining. Anyway there's a lot more to come, so I'll be posting them in the next few weeks.
In this occasion I actually have three sets of medium sized textures. They were all made with the same base only using Photoshop's default brushes and a lot of filters.
The first set contains three paper textures, 650x500px each. They do have a touch of color.
The second set contains three green/fuchsia based textures made with different techniques all very different.
And the third and last set contains three colorful textures made with some grunge brushes, all very different also. I think they came out all very different and playful so let's see if you like them. If you want them you know the drill...

Raining Purple Textures

As I promised I have a lot of resources to share with you. Once again is the turn for some textures. I have to say they have been dominating Photoshop these past few weeks, so expect a lot more soon.

Follow the Brush Pattern

Like I promised a lot of new resources and I have yet to deliver on the a lot part, lol, I decided to post a new brush set. This one I made some time ago and I decided to update it a little bit. I added four new patterned brushes to it. This one is really useful for backgrounds and to texturize arts. I used them to make the last headers I posted and also in the header for this journal, so you can see they have plenty of applications.
Remember that all the brushes here were made with Photoshop 7 so they should work fine with that and above. If you have any other version or a different graphic program, the .zip file includes image packs.

- Description

Waiting for Fringe

Hello everyone! I'm so happy for all the good responses I had in my last post. Thank you for your kind words. They really make my day and don't worry because I have more a lot more textures to share with you. But not today. This time I'm coming with a big graphics post.
For all of you that like icons, I have a nice batch today and a small surprise. First I have 16 fashion icons to add to the collection. I'm very happy with the result as I used some beautiful textures (some made by me that I'll post soon). And just because I'm anxiously awaiting the start of a new TV show "Fringe", I added 8 fandom icons to the batch. They are all of the wonderful Josh Jackson, that plays Peter Bishop in the new drama. And I'll probably add more with the whole cast in the next graphics post.
Anyway this is getting long but now to the surprise... Just because I really liked the pictures from Foto Decadent I have two beautiful banners / headers for you all that you can use as long as you first read the terms of use. I used many of my textures and brushes to make them that I'll make available for you in the next few weeks. So without much more babbling here's a sample, you'll find the rest under the cut...
